Lomonosov MSU has risen up to the 70th place in the general top and was ranked 29 by the quality of education according to RUR World University Rankings. MSU Rector, Academician Victor Sadovnichiy noted that the outstanding results reflect the sustainable growth of Russian education and spoke on the development program of the university.

New seminar featured talks on different aspects of digital journalism. Professor Svetlana Bodrunova (Saint Petersburg State University) reflected on the journalistic standards in Russian digital journalism, while Dr. Anna Gladkova (Lomonosov Moscow State University) studied digital journalism in the context of Russian education and academia. Held on April 11, the assembly brought together experts, entrepreneurs, and authority figures from 7 countries, who discussed future lines of collaboration between the Caspian states. The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, RAE Academician, Professor Elena Vartanova co-organized a round table discussion on the problems of the Caspian Sea in the information space. Other events included international conference, expert forums, and an online photo exhibition.

Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev headed the celebrations. Prominent Russian conductor was awarded the Star of Moscow University. The concert coincided with the 30-year anniversary of Professor Sadovnichiy’s rectorship.

‘Journalism In 2021: Creativity, Profession, Industry’ Conference

On February 3–5, the Faculty of Journalism held traditional ‘Journalism: Creativity, Profession, Industry’ conference. The academic event included a meeting of the Russian Council for Journalism Education, 2 plenary sessions, 1 English-language special panel, 29 thematic sessions, and 18 round table meetings. The speakers discussed the most acute issues of journalism studies related to the digitalization and mediatization of society, e.g. new content strategies, new methods of journalism education, business models in digital environment, new media, online reputation, digital capital, digital youth, modern media language and many other interesting problems.
