Organized by the Russian-African Club partnered with Faculty of Journalism and Faculty of Global Studies of Lomonosov MSU as well as with the Foundation of international diplomacy, the Third International Forum of Journalists from Russia and Africa will be hosted both at the Faculty of Journalism and online on the 29th of April (3 pm MSK).
In 2025, the first issue of World of Media. Journal of Russian Media and Journalism Studies brings together four original research papers on the topics linked to brands advertising strategies and their focus on the feminist agenda, to the concept of “untact” interactions and the phenomenon of blogosphere in Russian context, along with the issues regarding the study on particular types of media in relation to the technological progress, policy and regulatory frameworks.

A new meeting within the framework of the Topical seminar project was held on the 4th of March. The topic of discussion was how journalistic practices may be improved by means of AI. Questions concerning potential risks that the professional community all over the world is facing because of the expansion of emerging technologies were also highlighted by the researchers.
On March 3, the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University held a celebration dedicated to the birthday of Konstantin Dmitrievich Ushinsky. Students and teachers, as well as representatives of the Russian Academy of Education (RAE) laid flowers at the memorial plaque in the courtyard of the Faculty of Journalism and took part in the round table "Konstantin Dmitrievich Ushinsky –– a publicist and a teacher".
This year marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of Professor Ditmar Rosenthal, an exceptional expert in linguistics. He became a legend of Lomonosov Moscow State University and one of the most famous scientists of the Faculty of Journalism.

The Faculty of Journalism hosted the first Topical seminar in 2025. It was devoted to the topic of social inequality in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The researchers raised a number of issues related to the gender gap in professional journalism and to the “discourse of poverty” in the media space.

The first Topical seminar in 2025 is scheduled for February 11th, 3 pm MSK. During the meeting, topical issues relating to social exclusion and gender inequality will be under discussion.
In 2024, the latest issue of World of Media. Journal of Russian Media and Journalism Studies brings together four original research papers on the issues related to the factors of media text traumogenicity, Internet use among older people with the focus on the Russian context, the lexical apparatus of users’ discussions about conflict in the Internet space, along with the issues linked to study of the female AI news anchors images through the spectacles of a semiotic approach.
