Media Projects Competition Final at the Faculty of Journalism

The participants presented projects dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia to an expert jury.

The event was opened by the Dean, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Professor Elena Vartanova. In her welcoming address to the students, she highlighted the special role of the competition in educating young media professionals. 

Ten projects, selected following the Creative Residence in Krasnovidovo, reached the Final. They were evaluated by an expert jury comprising of the faculty members, media practitioners and Russian specialists on ethnic relations.

The winners of the Competition are:
  • 1st place: Yana Antsiferova, animated series “Beads of Russia” about the country’s indigenous peoples;
  • 2nd place: Alina Durneva and Polina Kashtanova, documentary “Beslan. One Country – One Grief”; as well as Anna Al Afif, Sofia Rimarenko and Valeria Volnova, multimedia project “ETHNO”;
  • 3rd place: Daria Karpenko, photo book “I Will Return One Day”.
The students who got the prizes will receive a scholarship from the Academic Council of the Faculty of Journalism.

In 2026, 362 students participated in the competition, having presented 136 projects. The event is aimed at developing students’ project management skills and supporting creative initiatives.
