Alumni Meeting Day Held at the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University

On June 6, the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University hosted its traditional Alumni Meeting Day. This year, the official ceremony took place in Auditorium 232.
Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Professor Elena Vartanova opened the event with a congratulatory address. In her speech, she emphasized the dynamic development of the faculty and its continued commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
In recognition of her outstanding contribution to Russian journalism, her dedication to the profession, and her long-standing service to the Faculty, the Academic Council posthumously awarded the title of Honorary Graduate to Lidiya Vitalievna Orlova, who passed away in 2023.
Lidiya Vitalievna began leading Fashion Magazine in 1986, overseeing its relaunch. Beginning in 1988, under her editorial guidance, the publication expanded its scope to include reports from Paris Fashion Week, features on global fashion trends, and original photo shoots. In 1991, she co-founded the newspaper Moscow Style, which later evolved into a magazine of the same name. Throughout her career, she authored several books on the history and development of Soviet fashion, along with two detective novels. Since 2013, she had been a lecturer on the history of Soviet fashion at the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov MSU.
Representatives of anniversary graduating classes shared warm recollections of their student years and paid tribute to their esteemed professors.
The musical segment of the evening was performed by current students of the Faculty of Journalism: Polina Efremenko, Milana Chugunova, Maria Oganesyan, Maria Efimova, and Anastasia Panina.
The event was hosted by Maria Krasheninnikova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, and Executive Secretary of the Alumni Society, alongside Nikita Aleshin, a 2025 bachelor’s degree graduate.
