Members of the Faculty of Journalism Elected to Leadership Positions in IAMCR Working Groups

The Faculty of Journalism congratulates its colleagues who have been elected to leadership positions in Working Groups at the recent International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) elections. Leading Researcher Dr. Anna Gladkova became co-chair of the Digital Divide Working Group. Associate Professor Dr. Anastasia Grusha was elected vice-chair of the Communication in Post- and Neo-Authoritarian Societies Working Group.

Digital Divide Working Group is dedicated to the study of the digital divide, digital inclusion and digital capital in different countries around the world. The founder and the first chair of this Working Group is Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Professor Elena Vartanova. The chair of the Department of Periodical Press Dr. Olga Smirnova was the chair of Digital Divide Working Group for several terms. Communication in Post- and Neo-Authoritarian Societies Working Group is particularly interested in the changing roles of media and journalism in the modern globalized world. Working Group was initiated by the President of the Faculty of Journalism, Professor Yassen Zassoursky. Associate Professor Dr. Anastasia Grusha was the chair of the Communication in Post- and Neo-Authoritarian Societies Working Group for several years.

IAMCR is one of the leading international organizations uniting media researchers around the world. It organizes the work of 15 thematic sections and 18 working groups, covering all topical scientific issues in the field of mass communications. The Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University is institutional member of IAMCR.
