Faculty Professors Congratulated 2021 Graduates

02.07.2021

Many different words of encouragement and appreciation have been said, and most warm and kind wishes were addressed to this year’s graduates of the Faculty of Journalism. The graduates were congratulated by Dean of the Faculty, Professor Elena Vartanova, curator of extra-curriculum activities, Dr. Diana Platonova, curators of this year’s graduates, Igor Govryakov and Svetlana Mudrik, and Professor of the Department of International Journalism, Dr. Grigory Prutskov.

Dean of the Faculty, Professor Elena Vartanova stressed that the students experienced a whole spectrum of possible forms of learning with the Faculty: from offline to online and back to hybrid forms. This was quite a lot to process but students managed to overcome the difficulties and grew to be mature and successful learners on their way to become dedicated professionals. Professor Vartanova invited the graduates to continue their academic life together with the Faculty and reassured that Mokhovaya 9 would always remember them fondly. She also wished them professional success and the very best in their lives.

Curator of extra-curriculum activities, Dr. Diana Platonova also praised 2021 graduates for being immensely talented and creative, and wished them professional fulfillment. Though the last year of their education was overshadowed by the pandemic, the students managed to cope with the hardships and started realizing their full potential. She reiterated the idea expressed by Elena Vartanova that the Faculty alumni are always welcome on Mokhovaya 9.

Igor Govryakov and Svetlana Mudrik, curators of this year’s graduates, noted that though the time passed extremely quickly, students came a long way and acquired extensive wealth of knowledge.

Last year was certainly a challenge. However, the challenge was addressed successfully, in large part owing to the students’ support, and the curators thanked the students for being such an inspiration during those complex times.
