Faculty of Journalism announces the first Master’s program in English

Being aimed at international students, this is the first Master’s program conducted entirely in English. It offers a unique experience to overseas students willing to study development trends in Russian media industry. 

The program, guided by the academic stars of the Faculty, examines Russian culture in the context of media development, in particular, focusing on the historical path of Russian media and culture. The best media experts will scrutinize Russian historical path, analyzing the debates between Westernizersand Slavophiles, communists, socialists and liberals, to study path dependence in current media development trends. Dean of the Faculty will lecture on the importance of media in today’s geopolitics as part of her Russian Media’s Soft Power course.

The program introduces a whole range of disciplines, such as Russian Media in the Multicultural Setting, Russian Digital Media, Photojournalism in Russia, Gender Studies in Media, Ethnic Media, etc. In addition to fundamental courses, the program offers a number of elective courses, allowing for a more in-depth study of certain aspects and providing an opportunity to receive specialized professional competencies. 

The Faculty of Journalism expresses confidence that high qualification of lecturers and careful selection of disciplines, together with the reputation of Lomonosov Moscow State University, will ensure the highest quality education.
