Faculty of Journalism to hold a series of academic seminars featuring world-renowned researchers

Starting from March 2021, Faculty of Journalism will organize once a month an academic seminar featuring world renowned researchers, both Russian and international. Media scholars from across the world will be invited to share relevant theoretical and practical insights in their area of research. Discussion between international and Russian scholars will be organized as an important part of these events.

afish-Terry-EV-mak.jpgThe first seminar is scheduled for March 2, 2021, 11 a.m. Moscow time. As part of the event, participants will listen to “Communication Futures for Internet Governance” presentation delivered by Professor Terry Flew, University of Sydney. Russia will be represented by Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Professor Elena Vartanova, who will give a talk on “Media Regulation: National Trends in the Global Context”.

This seminar will be be hosted on Zoom. PLEASE, REGISTER HERE TO TAKE PART IN THE EVENT. The registration form expires on March 1, so please register in advance.

The event is of utmost importance both for the integration of national scientific school into international academic environment and for the conceptualization of distinctive features of Russian media studies. The Faculty of Journalism invites everyone to sign up for the seminar and hopes that the issues, touched upon in the course of the event, will trigger productive academic discussion.
