The Faculty of Journalism starts a winter school at VDNH

ВДНХ лекции.jpgOn January 16, 2019 the Faculty of Journalism, MSU starts the second season of lectures during the winter school at VDNH (‘Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy’ park). This year the series of lectures will cover digital journalism. Teachers and researchers of the Faculty will talk about current trends in the field of media and describe some new challenges and opportunities brought up by digitalization. The program will last up to January 30.

The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, MSU, correspondent member of Russian Academy for Education Professor Elena Vartanova: «We have been organizing summer school at VDNH for four years. The popularity of this event encouraged us to continue our open meetings in winter as well. I am glad that citizens become more and more interested in media education and media literacy. More than 400 students attended the winter course last year!».

Schedule of lectures:

January 16 – Dr. Andrei Vyrkovsky, Associate Professor, Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University. Topic: «The media on the brink: Is there life ‘in the digit’?».

January 23 – Dr. Oleg Bakulin, Associate Professor, Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Head of the Chair of Photojournalism and Media Technology, and Maria Romakina, teacher at the Faculty of Journalism, Moscow State University. Topic: «How to verify the authenticity of photos in the digital age».

January 30 – Dr. Diana Kulchitskaya, Associate Professor, Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University. Topic: «How do new media change journalism?»

Admission is free, prior registration is not required.

Lectures start at 19:00 in the lecture hall of the ‘Rabochiy I Kolhoznitsa’ pavilion. Location.
