Dr. Wolfgang Mühl-Benninghaus has Become an Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Journalism, MSU

вольфганг.jpg On June 16, 2017 Academic Council of the Faculty of Journalism, MSU decided to award a title of Foreign Honorary Professor to Dr. Wolfgang Mühl-Benninghaus (Humboldt University in Berlin).

Research interests of Professor Mühl-Benninghaus include media economics, history of journalism, media systems and their transformations in global context, media digitalization. He is an author and editor of several books about social media management, German TV, economics of broadcasting media and history of film industry.

He is a co-chair of Free Russian-German Institute for Publicism and one of the organizers and lecturers of two bachelor courses “Contemporary German Media System and Journalism” and “Media and Journalism in Germany”. More than that, Professor Mühl-Benninghaus regularly takes part in a master course “Current Issues of Mass Media” as a guest lecturer.

Professor Mühl-Benninghaus is a regular participant of “Moscow Readings” conference. He is also a member of the “World of Media. Journal of Russian Media and Journalism Studies” editorial board and reviewer of articles by authors from all over the world. He selects candidates for exchange program with Humboldt University and personally interviews nominated students.

The title of Foreign Honorary Professor is awarded for productive educational and research cooperation, participation in academic international projects of the Faculty, and development of global connections in media scholars’ community. This title was previously given to Denis McQuail (University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands), Paolo Mancini  (University of Perugia, Italy), Hannu Nieminen (University of Helsinki, Finland), Kaarle Nordenstreng  (University of Tampere, Finland), Pal Tamas (Hungarian Academy of Sciences), Els De Bens (Ghent University, Belgium), Jens Wendland (Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany).
