Professor Vartanova has Become a Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Education

The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Professor Elena Vartanova has become a corresponding member of Russian Academy of Education for the Academic Basics of Media Education.
Since 2009 Professor Vartanova has been realizing a widescale project “Media Education in School” which includes the developing of theory and methodology of such education, organization of events aimed at increasing the media erudition of students and teachers. She is in charge of several projects including annual “Festival of School Media”, quests for schoolchildren, summer schools and so on. She is an editor of “Media Education in School” book series as well as different textbooks. Professor Vartanova popularizes the theory of media and their social functions. She opened the “Open Air School of Journalism” in Gorky Park in 2015 and the “Media Mondays at VDNKh” in 2016.
Professor Vartanova published dozens of papers focused on the topics of media education and media literacy.
