The visit of Thomas Kent

Tom Kent headshot.JPGOn October 06-10, 2014 Thomas Kent, adjunct associate professor at the Harriman Institute of Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs and the Columbia School of Journalism (USA) visited the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University. Along with his job at Columbia University, Professor Kent holds a position of a deputy managing editor and standards editor of The Associated Press, responsible for standards of fairness and accuracy across the organization.

During his stay in Moscow Thomas Kent gave a few lectures in English and French to the students of the Journalism Faculty at MSU. The lectures were focused on different aspects of journalistic ethics. Professor Kent also met faculty and researchers from the chair of periodical press and the chair of history of Russian journalism and media law. At these meetings Thomas Kent discussed current trends of the U.S. press market and development of Russian press through the history.
