New ‘Topical Seminar’ on October 5th

The event will feature talks by Professor Oscar Westlund and Dr. Maria Lukina, who will address different aspects of misinformation. Professor Westlund will focus on fact-checking practices, while Dr. Lukina will consider the problem in the context of education practices.

Leading Researcher Dr. Anna Gladkova became co-chair of the Digital Divide Working Group. Associate Professor Dr. Anastasia Grusha was elected vice-chair of the Communication in Post- and Neo-Authoritarian Societies Working Group.

The next seminar, devoted to transformations of media consumption strategies, will be held on September 7th at 16:00 MSK. The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, MSU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education Professor Elena Vartanova will give a talk ‘Advantages and disadvantages of digital media consumption: new dictatorship of the audience?’

Lomonosov MSU Became The Best Russian University According to The Nature Index Ranking 2021

Rector of MSU Academician Victor Sadovnichiy told that the outstanding results are due to the combination of fundamental research and educational activities, multidisciplinary approach, and development of new research and educational schools.

New Issue of World of Media: Journal of Russian Media and Journalism Studies

The authors touch upon such burning issues as media freedom, fake news, and social media potency for public engagement in human rights issues. One of the articles also looks into media image of the recently established academic union between Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

New season of Media Mondays started on June 7

Participants will learn the fine points of journalism profession, delve into its historical development, and explore the inner workings of mass media. The event was opened with a lecture by Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Elena Vartanova on journalism and media in the digital society. The event also includes separate educational program for younger audience.
