A Delegation from American University in the Emirates visited the Faculty of Journalism

On April 4, 2019 the Faculty of Journalism, MSU hosted a delegation from American University in the Emirates headed by Associate Professor Dr. Akhmed Khamis Aljanabi and accompanied by Economic adviser to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Russian Federation Dr. Abdullah Waleed Lateef. After a brief tour around the Faculty foreign colleagues were invited to discuss possible opportunities for cooperation.
The Dean of the Faculty Professor Elena Vartanova introduced the Faculty of Journalism in terms of Russian and international academic world. She emphasized that we are proud to be the leading media Faculty in Russia according to the most respectable university rankings. Professor Vartanova also noticed that we are interested in establishing collaboration with American University in the Emirates because joint educational and research projects with such dynamically developing institution could benefit both parties.
The Head of the Office of International Affairs Dr. Anna Gladkova specified some possibilities for the future cooperation. She also mentioned that the partnership with the colleagues from the Emirates could make a valuable contribution to international academic community.
Maria Putseva from International Academic Mobility Office told about some options for student exchanges. She introduced a two week ‘Russian Media and Journalism’ program and invited students from American University in the Emirates to join it next year.
Associate Professor Dr. Akhmed Khamis Aljanabi expressed his appreciation for the meeting and shared some ambitious ideas concerning our collaboration. He pointed out that our countries had very solid friendship and expressed his wish to build an equally strong friendship between our universities.
Both parties exchanged gifts and expressed a desire to conclude a cooperation agreement in future.
