The Doors Open Day at the Faculty of Journalism


On March 31, 2018 the Faculty of Journalism, MSU invited guests to attend the Doors Open Day. The Faculty organized tours for the participants to fill them on in the events of MSU’ history and show them a beautiful building. Students from radio, TV and photo offices conducted workshops to give the enrollees basic idea of practical journalism. The Dean Professor Elena Vartanova gave a traditional open speech and presented the plan of enrollment campaign.

The guests of the Faculty were able to choose among different shows and activities, but the ceremony of awarding the winners of X All-Russian Festival of School Media became the main part of Doors Open Day. The jury had examined 325 broadcasting, print and online media projects from Russia and some foreign countries. Competitors from different schools came to the Faculty to be awarded by Natalia Tyurina (MIA "Russia Today"), Nikolay Saprin (VGTRK), Eva Kouyoumdjian (Glamor), Artur Sokolov (RT), Kristina Potovyh (Izvestia) and other journalists and media researchers. Editorial team from Chelyabinsk won two prizes in two different nominations, the prize of Russian Union of Journalists was presented to project from Barnaul, Scientific Council awarded the Syktyvkar media and grand prix went to Arkhangelsk. Several participants were received special prizes: Alexandra Kuzminih (“Levda”, Saint-Petersburg) became the best reporter; Konstantin Galkin (“Kluch”, Moscow) won a title of best anchor; Victoria Kuzmicheva (“Nashe Vremya”, Moscow) and Anastasia Novikova (“Prospect”, Yaroslavl) were presented awards for the best photo and photoreport.

The meeting with special guest Artem Korolev, a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism and anchor of “Friday!" TV-channel became the final event of Doors Open Day.
