The Opening of “The Science Journalism Workshop”


On February 17, 2016 the rector of MSU Viktor Sadovnichiy opened a new interfaculty course “The Science Journalism Workshop”.

During his lecture Prof. Sadovnichiy described the most successful scientific projects of MSU. He told about supercomputer “Lomonosov-2” which allows MSU to compete with the most powerful computing centers. He spoke also about the space program of university: five university satellites were launched since 2005 and the six one should be ready on April, 2016. The main part of the lecture was devoted to the Noah's Ark project which is aimed to create a union bank of living systems.

After the lecture the editor-in-chief of the “Schrödinger's cat” journal Grirory Tarasevich shared his experience of science journalism and explained students how the course would work.
