05.06.2015

On April13-17, 2015 the “Russian Media and Journalism” school took place at the Faculty of Journalism. A number of students from different European countries (Belgium, Italy, Austria, Bulgaria and others) came to Moscow in order to learn about Russian journalism and media system.

Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Prof. Elena Vartanova and her colleagues (Dr. Mikhail Makeenko, Dr. Anna Gladkova, Dr. Diana Kulchitskaya, Dr. Ekaterina Sivyakova and other faculty members) delivered lectures about the history, genres, functions and business models of Russian journalism. The foreign students got a chance to expand that knowledge during industrial visits to Russian media companies, such as Russia Today and Russia Beyond The Headlines. At the end of the program students created a special issue of the “Journalist” newspaper.

The “Russian Media and Journalism” course has run for six consecutive years already and has proved to be an effective and inspiring course for young people eager to explore the world of Russian media.
