Elena & Anna: Media Talks is a podcast by the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University launched in 2022. 
   
In this monthly series of conversations Professor Elena Vartanova, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, and Anna Gladkova, Leading Researcher and Head of International Affairs Office at the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University discuss journalism, media and communication studies in Russia and abroad.
 
Topics covered in Elena & Anna: Media Talks podcast range from journalism education to new media, from digital inequalities to business models and much more, linking Russian media studies to the global academic discourse. Starting from 2022, episodes will also feature conversations with media scholars and journalists about current trends in journalistic work and media research. 


Episode 1
Journalism ethics: From Lomonosov times to digital age is the first episode of Elena & Anna: Media Talks podcast. In their conversation, Professor Vartanova and Dr. Gladkova address the topic of journalism ethics in the digital age, and discuss relevance of ethical rules articulated by the founder of the Moscow State University, Mikhail Lomonosov.



Episode 2
Journalism education in Russia: Historical perspective and current trends is the second episode of Elena & Anna: Media Talks. It is devoted to journalism education at MSU in historical perspective and modern context. Elena Vartanova and Anna Gladkova talk about academic departments in the days of the first Dean Evgeny Khudyakov, remember the era of Yassen Zassoursky and define the major research streams at the faculty such as new business models, foreign journalism, television and radio, digital journalism and new media.



Episode 3
Legendary names in the history of Moscow State University is the third episode of Elena & Anna: Media Talks. In this episode Professor Elena Vartanova and Dr. Anna Gladkova remember outstanding scientists and lecturers at the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The hosts talk about one of the developers of the modern approach to the theory of journalism Professor Evgeniy Prokhorov, one of the founders of practical stylistics of the Russian language Professor Dietmar Rosenthal, Professor at the Department of Russian Language Stylistics Ilya Tolstoy, and the researcher of Russian modernism Professor Nikolay Bogomolov. Professor Elena Vartanova and Dr. Anna Gladkova remember Professor Semen Gurevich, one of the developers of the theory of media economics, Professor Vladimir Gorokhov, one of the first researchers of the creative aspects of journalism, Professor Victoria Uchenova, the author of works on the history and theory of advertising, and Professor Vsevolod Ruzhnikov, one of the most well-known researchers in the field of radio.



Episode 4
Main highlights of 2022. The latest episode of Season 1 covers the results of the anniversary year.  The hosts recall significant events such as international conferences Journalism in 2021: Creativity, Profession, Industry and Moscow Readings-2022, publication of almost 40 monographs and study guides, the launch of new Bachelor and Master’s programs, online meetings for young scientists titled WIP, and arranging new partnerships with Belarus and Kazakhstan.
The episode covers not only academic events, but also special projects and vibrant student activity. The year started with multimedia projects launched in honor of the 70th anniversary of the faculty and the 75th anniversary of journalism education at Lomonosov MSU,  and continued with student projects such as a Poetry night, The Voices of War, and much more.
